Wordpress Vulnerability Affects Thousands (blog post)

Judging from the word in the blogosphere, the buzz
is that Wordpress 2.8.6 solves a major security hole
in Wordpress that allows a script to add content to
the root directory of your website. This is scary in
that you can end up having a host of web pages
promoting porn or infecting people with viruses
without you knowing about it. So far nothing major
has happened, but a lot of people are finding their
blogs have a blank look when they go to it.
